Through an in-depth analysis of key literature, we explore the need and importance of CNE, how CNE differs from In-service education, Different approaches of CNE, steps to conduct a CNE program, Origin of CNE in India, Scenario of CNE inside and outside of India, Role of different Regulatory bodies, challenges and barriers hampering the smooth functioning of CNE.
